(Welcome to my website: valentinedavidar.in)

Acts 16:8-9 So passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. (9) And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

A vision from God signifies that the Lord is initiating a significant movement in history. Paul knew that he needed to act on the vision without delay.

Zacharias was an old man, steadily doing the work assigned to him, without question. He did the work assigned to him with understanding. Luke 1:8-10 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, (9) according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. (10) And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.

The lot fell for Zacharias to burn the incense. At the hour of incense, the people were praying outside. Zacharias was doing the work of burning the incense, not as a ritual, but he did the work as a priest before God. Zacharias was lifting the prayers of the people to God. Revelation 8:3-4 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. (4) And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand.

Smoke also represents the glory of God. Revelation 15:8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed._

The hour of incense was therefore an important time in the worship that took place in the temple. This hour was the time when the people offered their prayers to God, and it was also the time of the Lord's presence, marked by glory, power, and holiness. It was a time when God met with His people. God's judgment, along with His mercy, was present to listen to His people at the hour of incense. This was the role of the priest in offering incense. Zacharias fulfilled his office as the priest offering the incense unto God.

It was at this time that the angel of the Lord visited Zacharias. Luke 1:11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. It was God's time for John the Baptist to enter the scene. Zacharias had to see the vision of the angel to begin the move of God.

Each of us must do our work as unto God and not to men. Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, When the time is fulfilled for the work of God to begin, then He gives us a vision.

God chose Zacharias to reveal His vision. Zacharias and Elizabeth did not have a child, and this was a deep pain in their heart. Luke 1:6-7 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. (7) But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. It was from their place of hurt that Zacharias was serving the Lord faithfully, and the Lord appeared to him.

God's vision came to Nebuchadnezzar, the Pharoah, and to other heathen kings. So, what can we say about the vision of God? A move of God begins to take place in history, and the Lord reveals His plans through visions. Acts 2:17-18 'AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE LAST DAYS, SAYS GOD, THAT I WILL POUR OUT OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL FLESH; YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS. (18) AND ON MY MENSERVANTS AND ON MY MAIDSERVANTS I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT IN THOSE DAYS; AND THEY SHALL PROPHESY. We are all aware that all over the world, many people are seeing visions from God. Considering these visions from the context of the Bible, we recognise that it seems as though the Lord is moving at a hectic pace to complete His purposes.

Our task is to be faithful to the task that God has for us. I Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. The Lord calls us, 'Well done, good and faithful servant... Matthew 25:20-21 "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' (21) His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

Paul and the team were faithful to the task of the Gospel, and the Lord gave them a vision.
