Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.
There is no favouritism with God. Romans 2:11 For there is no partiality with God._ The Lord expects that we show no partiality, for there is no partiality with Him. _Deuteronomy 10:17-19 For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe. (18) He administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing. (19) Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Asia was very much in the heart of God. The book of Revelation was written to the seven churches in Asia. Revelation 1:4-6 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, (5) and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
We realise that the messages to the seven churches apply to all of us. Revelation 1:11 saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and, "What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." In no way was the region of Asia lower or lesser in the heart of God compared to the region of Macedonia. At that time, it was necessary for the Gospel to first reach Macedonia before spreading to Asia and Bithynia.
Matthew 19:30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first. This was told by our Lord to the disciples, for they wanted to know what was in it for them, for they had left all to follow Jesus. Matthew 19:28-29 So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (29) And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. The Lord was preparing them that God's ways are different from man's expectations.
Matthew 20:16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen." This was in the context that those who worked for a very short time in the vineyard were paid the same amount as those who worked the whole day. This was the Lord's response. Matthew 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?'
Luke 13:30 And indeed there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last." The same truth was told to the leaders of Israel, for they considered themselves favoured by God. Luke 13:28-29 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. (29) They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God.
James 2:1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. The teaching for us is that we must not show partiality between the rich and the poor. James 2:2-4 For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, (3) and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, "You sit here in a good place," and say to the poor man, "You stand there," or, "Sit here at my footstool," (4) have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
We may esteem the poor man as being low, but in the eyes of the Lord, the poor have a special place. James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
We are called to be perfect even as our Lord is perfect. James 2:8-10 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you do well; (9) but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. (10) For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
