02 Acts 13 04-12 THE MINISTRY IN CYPRUS 33 Acts 13 12 Present the truth with authority
To 33 – Wed, 30 Apr 2025 – *Present the truth with authority* - _Acts 13:04-12_ – THE MINISTRY IN CYPRUS – _Jeremiah 01:17-19_
_Acts 13:12 Then *the proconsul believed*, when he saw what had been done, *being astonished at the teaching of the Lord*._
Paul, Barnabas, and John Mark had demonstrated the doctrine of Jesus to Sergius Paulus, and he was astonished. When we live and demonstrate Jesus's doctrine, we will silence others.
This was the experience of Stephen. _Acts 6:10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke._ Since those of the synagogue of the freedmen could not counter the wisdom and the words of Stephen, they went against him as a person and sought to bring him harm.
We ought not to be surprised by the response of the people of the world to the doctrine of truth. Those in our audience, chosen by God, as Sergius Paulus, will respond and receive the truth. There will be many like Elymas, who will counter the doctrine of truth and seek to harm us.
When we see the world harming and attacking the church, we must know that they are being confronted with the doctrine of truth, and they are rejecting the truth.
It is therefore necessary for us to continue to demonstrate and present the doctrine of truth to our people., We must not slow down or withdraw because we are witnessing severe persecution of the church. We must encourage one another more and more to live and share the truth more passionately.,
We must know that there will be some who God has chosen, who will respond and come to the truth, and there will be many others who will reject the truth and go about harming us.
This is the heritage of the children of God that we demonstrate truth to our world. _Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And *every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD*, And *their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD*._
The Lord is encouraging us to be strong and confident in presenting the truth to our world. _Jeremiah 1:17-19 "Therefore prepare yourself and arise, And *speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces*, Lest I dismay you before them. (18) For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar, And bronze walls against the whole land—Against the kings of Judah, Against its princes, Against its priests, And against the people of the land. (19) They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you," says the LORD, "to deliver you."_
We must know that what we speak and how we present the truth is from the Lord. He will open our mouths to speak His words appropriately. _Ezekiel 3:27 But *when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them*, 'Thus says the Lord GOD.' He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house._
The Lord has promised us that the Holy Spirit is with us to speak the words of God’s wisdom and truth to any audience to whom He may take us. _Luke 12:11-12 "Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. (12) *For the Holy Spirit will teach you* in that very hour what you ought to say."
Our response in such situations, in the enablement of the Holy Spirit, will put our adversaries to silence. _Luke 21:15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist._
This was how the Lord demonstrated the truth. We must always keep in mind the sequence. Jesus did and taught the truth. _Acts 1:1 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that *Jesus began both to do and teach*,_
_Matthew 7:28-29 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, (29) for *He taught them as one having authority*, and not as the scribes._
Jesus’ teaching was with authority as He is the fullness of the Godhead. _Colossians 2:9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;_
We draw our authority from Christ, for Jesus has made us sit together with Him. _Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, (5) even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), (6) and *raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus*,_
Knowing that the Lord has given us the authority to bring the rule of God on earth, we must teach with authority. _Ephesians 1:20-23 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, (21) far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. (22) And *He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church*, (23) which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all._
*We must demonstrate truth with authority.*
