03Mar2021 - *Coming into the sanctuary of Jesus* - _Luke 20:9-18_ - THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE 15 – Bible reading: _Daniel 2:34-35_

Ā

Those who have come to this understanding that Jesus is our Chief Cornerstone and that we are living stones built together into Him to offer up praise to God, will not be put to shame. We will thrive and grow and we will be the dwelling place of God.Ā Ā

Whereas, those who do not come into this reality will not grow into all that God has intended for them as His people but will live in a state of dryness in their walk with God.Ā Ā

_Luke 20:17-18 Then He looked at them and said, "What then is this that is written: 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED HAS BECOME THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE’? (18) Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."_Ā

Ā

_Isaiah 28:14-19 Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scornful men, Who rule this people whoĀ areĀ in Jerusalem, (15) Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made lies our refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves."_

Ā

The truth is made known to us. The truth that Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone and we find our sanctuary in Him. Those who do not want to receive and come into the truth, are opting for a lie. They are making lies their refuge and are hiding under falsehood. They are thinking that when the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us.Ā Ā

Ā

_(16) Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "*Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation*; Whoever believes will not act hastily. (17) Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet;_

Ā

Jesus is the sure foundation, a tried and tested stone and a precious stone. Whoever rests in the sanctum of Jesus will not be in haste.Ā

Ā

_The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place. (18) Your covenant with death will be annulled, And your agreement with Sheol will not stand; When the overflowing scourge passes through, Then you will be trampled down by it. (19) As often as it goes out it will take you; For morning by morning it will pass over, And by day and by night; It will be a terror just to understand the report."_Ā

Ā

God is warning people again and again that life and death are presented before them. Yet, men choose death rather than life.

_Isaiah 8:13-15 The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow;Ā LetĀ HimĀ beĀ your fear, AndĀ letĀ HimĀ beĀ your dread. (14) *He will be as a sanctuary*, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. (15) And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken, Be snared and taken."_Ā

When people refuse to come to Jesus and come under His sanctuary, they will face the terrible consequences that the word of God, depicts.Ā Ā

Nebuchadnezzar, the Emperor, had a dream and Daniel was called to interpret his dream, which was also the prophecy from God.Ā

_Daniel 2:34-35 You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. (35) Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth._Ā

The stone that was cut out without hands, who is Jesus the Chief Cornerstone, struck the image. The image that represented all the nations and rulers of the world, were crushed together and became like chaff. The stone that struck the image then filled the whole earth.Ā

All the kingdoms of the world were blown away and the everlasting kingdom of Jesus was established.Ā Ā

_Daniel 2:44-45 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. (45) Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold—*the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass* after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure."_Ā

God has made us know His plan and His purpose. The Lord is inviting people everywhere to repent, turn and come into the sanctuary of Jesus. *This is the reconciling work of God for which we as the church are here to be His witnesses and ambassadors, reconciling all of creation back to God*.Ā

*Thought to ponder*

```Little time is left to do this work.```
