28Nov19 - *The Lord alone will be exalted* - _Luke 14:7-11_ - Bible reading: _I Corinthians 1:29-31_
_Luke 14:11 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."_
This is a kingdom principle. The world laughs and mocks at this principle but as His kingdom people, we must be rooted in this principle. God lifts up the humble for His glory. We will look at some of the applications of this principle.
The first application of humility that we examined was the principle of justification. The second application, was the application of experiencing God’s grace. The third application of humility that we considered yesterday was the application of the meek inheriting the earth.
Today, we will look at one more application of humility.
We live in a world of chaos and confusion. People deceiving and being deceived. There is so much clamour and commotion. People claiming that they have the final word on different matters of life and wanting to assert themselves. Let us be very clear. In the final analysis, it is *the Lord alone, who will be exalted*.
_Isaiah 2:11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day._
What should be our stand, as we live in such a chaotic world? Our stand has to be that we know the Lord and we are known by Him. _Jeremiah 9:24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD._
We are in Christ Jesus and that is all that matters. _I Corinthians 1:29-31 that no flesh should glory in His presence. (30) But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— (31) that, as it is written, "HE WHO GLORIES, LET HIM GLORY IN THE LORD."_
All those, both of the heavenly host and on the earth, who exalt themselves, will be punished on that day. _Isaiah 24:21 It shall come to pass in that day That the LORD will punish on high the host of exalted ones, And on the earth the kings of the earth._
What is it that we need to do? Wait on Him. _Isaiah 25:9 And it will be said in that day: "Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation."_
