The armies of God _Luke 11:14-23_

Yesterday, we saw that great position to which God has raised us, the church. He has raised us to be seated in the heavenly places with Christ Jesus, which is to rule with Him. God has done this so that in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus _Ephesians 2:6-7._

We are people of the kingdom of God because we live and function, not by the flesh but by the Holy Spirit _Matthew 12:28._

As we live here on earth, as the church, being the custodians and ambassadors of the kingdom of Jesus Christ, we must be fully aware that there will be persecution, for we are functioning in the place, where satan is ruling _I John 5:19._

The Thessalonian Christians endured patiently and in faith, all the persecutions and tribulations that they had to undergo. Paul is encouraging them, saying that this persecution and tribulation that they are undergoing because they belong to the kingdom of Jesus, is the manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that they have been counted worthy of the kingdom of God _II Thessalonians 1:4-5._

Paul is encouraging Timothy to continue in the things that he has learned and been assured of, knowing from whom he has learned them since all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution _II Timothy 3:12-14. We too must continue in the things that we have learned and been assured of._

Peter and John had this mindset so clearly etched into their understanding. They rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the name of Jesus. _Do we have the same clarity in our understanding, as they had?_ The Apostles did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as Christ, daily, in the temple and in every house, though they had been beaten and commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus _Act 5:40-42._

_Friends, let us be assured that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world and we have overcome the forces of the kingdom of satan I John 4:4._

Our mind ought to be filled with the powerful picture of Jesus given to us in _Revelation 19:11-16._ We see Jesus on a white horse. His name is Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. The armies in heaven, (where we find our place, as we take on our citizenship in the kingdom of Jesus), clothed in fine linen, (which is the righteousness with which we are clothed, the righteousness of Christ), white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God and He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

*Thought to ponder*

```I Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.```
