(Welcome to my website: valentinedavidar.in)

Acts 16:13 And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.

The team that travelled from Troas to Macedonia was made up of four men. Paul, Silas, Timothy and Luke. They met with the women for prayer at the riverside.

The Lord God created us male and female. Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." (27) So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

We were created to complement and supplement one another as men and women, thereby completing the image of God. We were to appreciate, facilitate and celebrate our distinctiveness and complementarity. There was no competition, division, jostling, suppression or hierarchy in the way we were to function as men and women.

We were created as mankind, comprising male and female, to complete the image of God and be co-rulers with Him over all His creation. Psalms 8:3-6 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, (4) What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? (5) For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. (6) You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,

Our primary design in creation could not be completed without oneness between male and female. This oneness has been marred by sin. We are now living in a state where we are experiencing all kinds of barriers and confusion between men and women.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings us back together in oneness as men and women. Galatians 3:27-28 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

There was a healthy partnership of men and women in the ministry of Paul. Here are some examples.

Phoeba was a servant of the church. She delivered Paul's letter to the church at Rome. She was a businesswoman, and she supported the ministry of Paul, financially and in other ways. Romans 16:1-2 I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, (2) that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also.

Priscilla, along with Aquila, was a fellow worker for the Gospel with Paul. Romans 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, Priscilla was a Bible teacher of repute. Acts 18:26 So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

Mary was a co-labourer with Paul for the Gospel. Romans 16:6 Greet Mary, who labored much for us.

Junia was a fellow prisoner with Paul, along with Andronicus, her husband. She was a noteworthy apostle, and she had come to Christ before Paul. Romans 16:7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my countrymen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

The first church in Philippi was established in Lydia's home. We are studying her conversion. Acts 16:40 So they went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed. Lydia was a wealthy lady, and she opened her heart and her home for the Gospel. Acts 16:14-15 Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. (15) And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay." So she persuaded us.

Paul pleaded with Euodia and Syntyche to be of one mind, for they were co-labourers with Paul for the Gospel, whose names were in the Book of Life. Philippians 4:2-3 I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. (3) And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

A wholesome fellowship of men and women took place by the riverside in Philippi.
