34 – Wed30Oct2024 – *Restoration to God’s glory* - _Acts 11:01-18_ – PETER’S EXPLANATION – _Romans 15:09_

_Acts 11:18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then *God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life*."_

When we repent and turn to God, we bring Him glory. _Romans 15:9 and *that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy*, as it is written: "FOR THIS REASON I WILL CONFESS TO YOU AMONG THE GENTILES, AND SING TO YOUR NAME."_

God, in His mercy, had granted repentance to the Gentiles. God is restoring all things back to His glory.

We were once in God's glorious presence but lost that glory because of our rebellion against God. _Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,_

We are being restored to the glory of God because we are justified and reconciled with Him by faith in Jesus. _Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, (2)  through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, *and rejoice in hope of the glory of God*._

The Gentiles were now brought into this joyful experience in Christ, where we partake of His glory. _I Thessalonians 2:12 that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory._

For us to return to the glory of God, is the plan of God from the very beginning. _II Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, *because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, (14)  to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ*.

Being restored to the glory of God is our destiny. The devil will try to cheat us of all that is our inheritance. How foolish on our part that, knowing the agenda of the devil, we still give in to his ways.

_John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly._ God is giving back to us all that we lost but we allow the devil to steal it away from us.

The devil keeps the minds of those who do not believe, blinded. _II Corinthians 4:4  whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, *lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them*. God’s agenda is that the light of the gospel of His glory should shine on us.

When we experience the Gospel in all its fullness, we will experience His glory. This is what the devil does not want to happen to us. Now that we have come to Jesus by faith in Him, let us walk worthy of the Lord for His glory to shine on us.

Knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places, who are robbing us of the glory of God, we put on the whole armour of God. _Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil._

The glory of the Lord comes on us as we remain in the habitat of God. _John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing._ We abide, we are rested in God. In Him, we live and move and have our being. This is the place of God’s glory.

Whatever we do, we do it in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is higher than any other name. _Philippians 2:9-10 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and *given Him the name which is above every name*, (10)  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,_ We operate with thanksgiving out of the name of Jesus to give Him glory. _Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him._

It is the Holy Spirit, working in and through us, who causes us to be transformed, increasingly, into the image of Jesus that transmits the glory of God. _II Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image *from glory to glory*, just as by the Spirit of the Lord._ We yield more and more to the Holy Spirit to direct our lives.

_II Corinthians 4:6-7 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts *to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ*. (7)  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us._

Thus, *whatever we do, we do it all for the glory of God*. _I Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, *do all to the glory of God*._

```This restoration to the glory of God is by His mercy.```
