20Jan2021 - *Join with creation to worship the King* - _Luke 19:28-40_ - BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD 13 – Bible reading: _I Corinthians 1:27-29_

Ā

The religious leaders were indignant with Jesus for allowing His disciples, children and the crowd to welcome Him as ā€˜Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord’. They were outraged because they knew the significance of these words of welcome that were being voiced by the people.

Ā

_Luke 19:39-40 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." (40) But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."_Ā

Ā

_Matthew 21:15-16 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they were indignant (16) and said to Him, "Do You hear what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES AND NURSING INFANTS YOU HAVE PERFECTED PRAISE'?"_Ā

Ā

The Lord’s answer was astonishing. _(40) But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, *the stones would immediately cry out*."_Ā

Ā

Jesus not only did not prevent the people and the children from acclaiming His as the King but He made it known to the religious leaders to see Him for who He really is, for He is God of all creation and that all of creation worships Him.Ā  Ā Ā

Ā

All of humanity is His. Babes and nursing infants, whom the world considers as dependents, were those who were familiar with who He is. He is also the God of heaven and earth. The God of all creation.Ā Ā

Ā

_Psalm 24:1 AĀ Psalm of David.Ā The earthĀ isĀ the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein._Ā

Ā

_Psalm 98:7-9 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it; (8) Let the rivers clapĀ theirĀ hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the LORD, (9) For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity._Ā

Ā

Creation recognises her owner and eagerly awaits to be in submission to the owner. Man was made ruler over God’s creation but because of man’s alienation and rebellion against God, creation is groaning. Creation is waiting for man to come back to his rightful place as the vice-regent of God over all of God’s creation. _(Romans 8:19-22)_Ā

Ā

Moses was reminding the Hebrews that they need to live in surrender and obedience to the King for all of creation is His.Ā

Ā

_Deuteronomy 10:12-14 ā€œAnd now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, (13) and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I command you today for your good? (14) Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the LORD your God,Ā alsoĀ the earth with all thatĀ isĀ in it._Ā

Ā

Man’s alienation from God has thus blinded the eyes of man that he is not able to see the realities of life. Creation and nature are able to respond to their owner.Ā

Ā

_Isaiah 1:3 The ox knows its owner And the donkey its master's crib;Ā ButĀ Israel does not know, My people do not consider." Jeremiah 8:7 ā€œEven the stork in the heavens Knows her appointed times; And the turtledove, the swift, and the swallow Observe the time of their coming. But My people do not know the judgment of the LORD._Ā

Ā

The Lord was telling the religious leaders that creation responds to Him but man in his wisdom is not willing to acknowledge God.Ā Ā

Ā

_I Corinthians 1:27-29 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; (28) and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, (29) that no flesh should glory in His presence._Ā

Ā

Let us in brokenness, join with creation in worshipping and welcoming the King. Let us rejoice and shout out loud, ā€œBLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORDā€.Ā

Ā

*Thought to ponder*

Ā

```ā€œLord I fall before you and am willing to follow you, Master, to the cross, for that is where you were glorified as King.ā€```
