Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.

We live in times of instability. All that we thought would remain is now crumbling right in front of our eyes. People are in fear of not knowing what tomorrow holds. What can give people hope in this time of hopelessness? It is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our joy can be full in a time when only distress grips us. How is that possible? It is possible as we have fellowship with God and with our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the message that we must share with our world and we cannot keep this message to ourselves. John was eager to share this message to his audience. I John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— (2) the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— (3) that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. (4) And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

This fellowship with God and the Lord Jesus can be had through belief in the gospel. The gospel message is spelt out very clearly for us in this passage. I Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, (2) by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. (3) For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, (4) and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

We are born again therefore of incorruptible seed. Some have interpreted this to mean that our body will not see corruption just as Jesus’ body did not see corruption. That is not what the scripture teaches us. Our body like everybody else’s body is susceptible to infection of the virus. We must take necessary precautions as the authorities have directed us. We are born of incorruptible seed, meaning, there is birthed within us the potential to live victoriously over sin, just as Jesus lived without sin. His flesh is available to us by faith. Again, I’m not saying that we will be sinless but we have been given the potential to live victoriously over sin, which we must exercise by faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I Peter 1:23-25 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, (24) because "ALL FLESH IS AS GRASS, AND ALL THE GLORY OF MAN AS THE FLOWER OF THE GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND ITS FLOWER FALLS AWAY, (25) BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

Thought to ponder

Standing steadfast on the gospel of Jesus Christ, let us rescue the perishing.
