Luke 14 15-24 The marriage feast of the Lamb 16 The things that cannot be shaken may remain
22Dec19 - *The things that cannot be shaken may remain*- _Luke 14:15-24_ - Bible reading: _Hebrews 12:25-29_
_Revelation 19:9 Then he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!' " And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."_
_Luke 14:23-24 Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (24) For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.' "_
The Master was sending the servant to go out and bring people to the feast of the Lamb. The Lord is asking us, servants, to *compel* them to come in.
We have been considering the work of compelling people to come in. When people refuse to accept the invitation given by the Master, they will have to face the wrath of God. _John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 8:24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."_
This is a prophetic role that we carry, for we carry the pain of God’s heart to the people. God does not want any one to perish. When we have been prophets to our people, then the people will have no excuse, whatsoever, before the Master.
Jesus was the light that came into the world. He also made us, His servants, to be the lights of the world. We are not only, individually, lights, but as the Church, we are a city set on a hill. We are the points of reference. We are the conscience keepers to our society. People will come to us and meet Jesus or they will run away from us, preferring to remain in their darkness.
This prophetic role is powerful because as we live as the light of our world, God’s voice is spoken through us, into our world…into our culture…into our society.
_Hebrews 12:25-29 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,_ God speaks from the heaven through us, who are the lights of our world.
_(26) whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO HEAVEN." (27) Now this, "YET ONCE MORE," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain._ What is God doing by speaking through us into our culture and into our society? God is shaking things up so that the things that cannot be shaken may remain but the rest will fall away.
This is our prophetic role into our culture. Our life becomes a communication of God, so that the things that cannot be shaken in culture may remain and the rest to fall away. _(28) Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear._ We are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Our task, here on earth, is to be God’s light, allowing God’s voice to be spoken through us and that we become those, who bring those things that cannot be shaken into His kingdom.
Why do we function this way? It is because _(29) For our God is a consuming fire._ He will burn up everything that do not pertain to His kingdom, in unquenchable fire.
*Thought to ponder*
```Lord help us, as your servants, understand and fulfill our prophetic role here on earth.```
