06Dec19 - *God rewards us* - _Luke 14:12-14_ - Bible reading: _Philippians 4:18-19_
_Luke 14:12-14 Then He also said to him who invited Him, "When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. (13) But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. (14) And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just."_
We have been seeing in the past few days, how our God wants us to take care of the poor. We have also seen that the Lord has placed the resources in our hands to meet the needs of the poor.
Now, when we care for and are engaged with the poor, the Lord assures us that He will reward us. _Matthew 25:34-40 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (35) for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; (36) I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' (37) "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? (38) When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? (39) Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' (40) And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'_ The kingdom has been prepared for those, who care for the least of the brethren of God. Those who do not care for the least will be cast into the everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels _Matthew 25:41_ The Lord does not want any one of us to go there, for that is a place prepared for the devil but it depends if we care for the poor.
The rewards of God are not only in terms of eternity but He rewards us here on earth, in His own wonderful way. All will know that we are blessed and rewarded by God. _Matthew 6:4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly._
_Matthew 10:42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward."_
Paul experienced the loving care of the Philippian church for him through Epaphroditus. He assures them that God will take care of their need, since they had taken care of his need. This is a principle of God and His kingdom. _Philippians 4:18-19 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. (19) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus._
