Luke 13 31-35 The lament of Jesus 11 Having our eyes opened
11Nov19 - *Having our eyes opened* - _Luke 13:31-35_ - Bible reading: _II Corinthians 3:15-18_
_Luke 13:35 See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' "_
The Jews were blinded or chose to remain in their blindness about Jesus the Messiah. He came to His own but His own did not receive Him. _John 7:33-36 Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me. (34) You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come." (35) Then the Jews said among themselves, "Where does He intend to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks? (36) What is this thing that He said, 'You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come'?"_
To some extent the disciples, understood who He was and so they shouted Hosanna as Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey. _Luke 19:38-40 saying: " 'BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" (39) And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples."_ The Jewish religious leaders, were indignant for what the people were shouting meant that Jesus was the much-awaited King. It was necessary for the Jewish leaders to acknowledge and fall before Him in worshipful surrender or reject and rebel against Him. They chose the latter. _(40) But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."_
Till this day, the Jews continue in their blindness. _II Corinthians 3:15-18 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. (16) Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (17) Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (18) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord._ When we turn to the Lord the veil is removed, we surrender to Him and with the Lord there is liberty.
Yet, one day His people, the Jews, will seek the Lord. _Hosea 3:4-5 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim. (5) Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days._ They will mourn for the Lord, whom they had rejected. _Zechariah 12:10 βAnd I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn._
He is coming soon as the Lord and King and every eye will see Him. _Revelation 1:7-8 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. (8) "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."_
*Thought to ponder*
```Until He returns, our task is to open blind eyes for on that day, it will be too late.```
