*Living victoriously over the evil one* _Luke 11:24-26_We ought not to be ignorant of the devises of the evil one, rather, we need to live victoriously over the evil one. The evil one is looking for people, whose lives are swept and put in order, to come in and produce chaos. The entry door that we as children of God, who are pilgrims here on earth, often open to the evil one is the fleshly lusts. The flesh and its lusts are an ally with satan. God’s word teaches us to abstain from fleshly lusts that war against the soul _I Peter 2:10-11._ How do we abstain from fleshly lusts? It is by the Holy Spirit that we put to death the deeds of the flesh. It is only then we will live or else we will die _Romans 8:13._ Our life now in Christ, is a continuous walk in the Holy Spirit. It is only when we are in the Spirit that we will not fulfill the lust of flesh _Galatians 5:16._ Our Lord has set before us life and death. We are now in Christ Jesus but we must continue in His Spirit and not go back to the flesh _Deuteronomy 30:19._ God’s heart breaks for us, because we have known His ways and His deliverance that He has provided for us but we do not want it. So God gives us over to our stubborn and rebellious heart. This is not what the Lord wants for us, as His people, but when we persist in our fleshly ways, then this will be the result _Psalm 81:11-13._ For such as turn aside to their crooked or fleshly ways, the LORD shall lead them away with the workers of iniquity _Psalm 125:5._ This is why the Lord taught us to pray, beseeching Him not to lead us into temptation but to deliver us from the evil one. God does not tempt anyone _James 1:12-16._ but our prayer is that we be kept victorious over the evil one by not walking in the flesh _Matthew 6:13._ The weapons of our warfare are mighty in God to pull down the strongholds of the flesh and live victoriously over the evil one. _II Corinthians 10:3-4._

*Thought to ponder*

```If we produce briers and thorns, instead of good fruit, then we will be burnt - Hebrews 6:7-8.```
