(Welcome to my website: valentinedavidar.in)

Acts 16:19-21 But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities. (20) And they brought them to the magistrates, and said, "These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city; (21) and they teach customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe."

The Lord prepared us that there would be suffering and persecution for us as disciples of Christ. Matthew 10:16-18 "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. (17) But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. (18) You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

The Lord is sending us as sheep among wolves, and so we need to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves. What does this mean? Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; (6) In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (7) Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 1. We must acknowledge God in all our ways. 2. We must fear the Lord and depart from evil 3. We must trust the Lord with all our hearts.

1. In all our ways, we must acknowledge God. Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the

LORD: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; (24) But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD.

2. We must fear the Lord and depart from evil. Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD

is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate._ / _Job 28:28 And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.' " / Psalms 34:11-16 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. (12) Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? (13) Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. (14) Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. (15) The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. (16) The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

3. Trusting the Lord with all our hearts requires that we do not look at what is seen,

but on the Lord. II Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. Our circumstances could be painful, but we must learn not to look at what is seen but what is unseen. II Corinthians 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. The suffering that we undergo as messengers of the cross of Christ is light and momentary. II Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, These are truths regarding wisdom.

The Lord told us also to be wary of men. Micah 7:2-6 The faithful man has perished from the earth, And there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; Every man hunts his brother with a net. (3) That they may successfully do evil with both hands-The prince asks for gifts, The judge seeks a bribe, And the great man utters his evil desire; So they scheme together. (4) The best of them is like a brier; The most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge; The day of your watchman and your punishment comes; Now shall be their perplexity. (5) Do not trust in a friend; Do not put your confidence in a companion; Guard the doors of your mouth From her who lies in your bosom. (6) For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man's enemies are the men of his own household. Our eyes need to be on the Lord and not on men to save us. Micah 7:7 Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.

We must also keep in mind that when we are brought before the leaders, it will be an occasion for a testimony to the Lord. Paul stood before leaders on several occasions and testified. Acts 26:19 "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,
